Glen innes to tamaki Drive Shared Path

The Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive Shared Path is a joint project with central government that will deliver a 7km-long path that connects Auckland’s eastern suburbs to the city centre. The natural beauty and magnificent views along the route will appeal to people commuting into the city as well as those using the path for fitness and recreation.

ORAKEI BASIN WALKWAY

Construction on the Orakei Basin walkway began in 2010 when Desley was chair of the Hobson Community Board. Now complete, It is a 2.9km walkway featuring a 650m wooden boardwalk alongside the railway tracks which enables recreational users to circumnavigate the basin without having to compete with cars.

COLIN MAIDEN PARK

Desley successfully advocated to the Governing Body for the purchase of Colin Maiden Park when it came up for sale. Following that, the Orakei Local Board consulted on and developed a Colin Maiden Park masterplan ensuring growth can be accommodated.

TAMAKI DRIVE MASTERPLAN

Desley and the Orakei Local Board developed the first masterplan for Tamaki Drive precinct that involved, CCO’s, Councillors, the Mayor, Local Board and community.
